QR code for a PDF

Link a printed code to a PDF brochure, guide, datasheet or menu. The QR code stores a link, so your PDF needs a public web address — the free tool can't host or track the file.

Paste the public https:// link to your hosted PDF — e.g. https://yourbusiness.co.uk/brochure.pdf. This tool can't host the PDF.

Enter a URL to encode.

Generated entirely in your browser. SmartQRFlow does not store, track or see the contents of free QR codes — including Wi-Fi passwords and contact details.

How to make your qr code for a pdf

  1. Host the PDF somewhere public. Upload your PDF to your website or file host and copy its public https:// link. Make sure it opens without a login.
  2. Paste the link. Choose Website URL above and paste the PDF link. The preview updates live.
  3. Customise and download. Pick colours and size, then save PNG for print or SVG for large formats.
  4. Test the scan. Scan with your phone to confirm the PDF opens. Test at the final printed size.

Frequently asked questions

Can I upload a PDF here to get a QR code?

No. The free static tool encodes a link to a URL. You need to host the PDF yourself and point the QR code at its public URL. We don't store or host your files.

Can I see how many people downloaded the PDF?

Not with a free static code. For download and scan tracking, use a dynamic QR code with analytics.

What if the PDF link changes?

A static code can't be updated after printing. If the URL may change, use a dynamic code so you can redirect the same printed code to a new link.
